CALLING ALL PLANT PIONEERS: EARTH’S OWN LAUNCHES NEW COMMUNITY GRANT PROGRAM FOR PLANT-BASED PROJECTS ACROSS CANADA
Earth’s Own Plant Project is offering grants of up to $25,000 to people, groups and organizations working to make change in the way Canadians eat
June 15, 2020 [Burnaby, BC] - For more than 20 years, Earth’s Own has been on a relentless pursuit: to change the world for the better through plant-based living. Today, the company announced a new initiative designed to support others on the same mission. The Earth’s Own Plant Project will provide funding and support to groups and organizations working to fight climate change by sparking a shift to plant-based eating.
“We believe - fiercely - that eating a plant-based diet can save the world,” says Brittany Hull, Director of Marketing at Earth’s Own. “ We know the world can’t sustain our current eating habits and that adopting a plant-based diet is the biggest thing we can do as individuals in the fight against climate change. And now we’re expanding our mission to lend our support to like-minded plant pioneers across Canada.”
The Plant Projects call-for-applications launches today, and is open to everyone - from individuals to national charities - with a good idea. Grants of up to $25,000 are available, and Earth’s Own will provide promotional support and product to selected projects, in addition to cash.
“Whether you’re an entrepreneur wanting to start a plant-based food truck, a school lunch program looking to make the switch from dairy to oat or a national charity with a plant-based education curriculum - if you’re motivated to make a difference to our planet by inspiring Canadians to choose plants, we want to hear from you.” explains Hull.
The company has partnered with plant-based advocate Erin Ireland on the program; Ireland will serve at the Plant Project ambassador, helping to encourage entries and help select grant recipients.
“I am so excited to team up with Earth's Own on this meaningful mission. I've been blown away by their steadfast commitment to help change the world by inspiring people to change what they eat and drink. They really get that the single greatest thing we can all do to help save our planet is to eat more plants.” said Erin Ireland. “I can't wait to see what comes from the Plant Project —I truly believe it will inspire and ignite beautiful things."
Applications can be submitted at earthsown.com/plantproject before July 31 and Plant Project grant recipients will be announced in September 2020.
